Along with a sneak peek at the COD exhibit, Julia Walker, Assistant Curator at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art, will explore Andy Warhol’s journey from immigrant to iconic superstar.
About the presenter:
Julia Walker is the Assistant Curator at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art. Prior to joining the CCMA staff, Julia worked at the College of DuPage and National Luis University as an adjunct professor of Humanities and Art History. Julia has worked on publications and exhibitions at several museums, including the Art Institute of Chicago and the Smart Museum of Art. She earned her Master of Arts in Humanities with a specialization in Art History from The University of Chicago and Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History with a minor in Educational Studies from The University of California, Irvine.
About the Exhibit:
The Warhol Exhibition includes 94 works from Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop/Works from the Bank of America Collection on loan through Bank of America’s Art in our Communities program, and over 11,000 sq. ft. of interactive experiences including a Biographical exhibit, Video installation, 150+ photos taken by Warhol, Children’s Print Factory, Studio 54 experience and a Central Park-inspired outdoor space. In 2020, WPLD joined the SWAN Library Services consortium, making over 8,000,000 items available to our members.
WPLD members and guests have access to many amenities: Study and Meeting Rooms, Quiet Room with fireplace, casual seating areas, Discovery Room for children, Teen Lounge, cold beverage vending café, free wifi and computers.
The library is located in the heart of Warrenville’s civic center near the intersection of Batavia and Butterfield Roads. Additional parking and a second entrance are available off of Mount St. and Manning Avenue.
