In the Library, numerous medical topics to browse are shelved within Dewey call numbers 610 through 618. Mental Illness is shelved in the 616.8's, Women’s Health in the 618's, and Children’s Health & Mental Health in the 618.9's.

• Information Connections – Marionjoy Medical Library's Information Connections website offers resources for parents of children with developmental disabilities and chronic diseases.
• Medication Disposal – Various options are listed on Page 15 of the DuPage County Recycling Guide PDF.
• MEDLINE – Abstracts encompassing all areas of medicine, including dentistry and nursing. This online resource is available remotely, 24/7 to Warrenville Library cardholders. You will need your Warrenville library card number and 4 digit pin number to access the database.
• Medline Plus Health Information – Info on health topics, drugs and supplements, medical news, and resources from the National Library of Medicine. Includes a medical encyclopedia and dictionary.
• Merck Manual Home Edition – Explains disorders, symptoms, treatments, diagnoses, and prognoses in laymen's terms.
• Mondofacto – Subject-specific dictionary of terms related to medicine and the sciences, this resource also includes acronyms, eponyms, conventions, and the history of terms.
• Nutrition.gov – Online access to government information on food and nutrition for consumers.
• ReferenceUSA Healthcare – National directory of over 850,000 physicians, surgeons and dentists. Includes state of license, medical school attended, patients per week, contact info and more. • WebMD – Provides timely, reliable health information for the general management of health.

Mental Health

• American Psychiatric Association – Resource for anyone seeking mental health information on many common mental health concerns, including warning signs of mental disorders, treatment options and preventative measures.
• American Psychological Association – APA is a leading scientific and professional organization that represents psychology in the United States. Its website covers a variety of topics concerning mental health.
• Illinois Department of Mental Health – Department provides a wide variety of services at all levels for adults and children throughout the state. These services are offered through hundreds of DMH partners including mental health clinics, agencies and hospitals.
• Medline Plus: Mental Health – Produced by the National Library of Medicine, MedlinePlus offers free, reliable, and up-to-date mental health information. This website is a good starting point for basic research on mental illness topics.
• Mental Health – Mayo Clinic site discusses overcoming the stigma of mental illness.
• NAMI of DuPage County – Local alliance of the National Alliance of Mental Illness provides support and education on mental illness issues.
• National Institute of Mental Health – National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is the lead Federal agency for clinical research on mental and behavioral disorders. The website is extensive in topics and news on clinical trials.
• Psych Central – Provides news and support groups from the Internet's largest and oldest independent mental health and psychology network. Run by mental health professionals offering information and over 160 support groups to consumers.
