Head of Technical Services (view job description)
(Full–time, exempt, 37.5 hours per week)
Due to a retirement, the Warrenville Public Library District seeks an individual who has a demonstrated interest in utilizing best practices to facilitate effective and efficient workflow, quality control and database management. The Head of Technical Services trains, manages, motivates and evaluates three part-time employees. Together with these employees, the department head ensures that library materials are cataloged and processed quickly and accurately. As a member of our Management Team, this individual participates in strategic planning and policy development. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about trends and innovations in the field of public library services and will have a proven talent for building consensus and introducing changes that benefit the library, its patrons and staff.
Schedule: May include days, evenings and weekends.
Requirements: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library education program; Minimum 1 year supervisory experience with 3 to 5 years of increasingly responsible public library experience working in a Technical Services Department.
Salary Range: $43,000 - $64,500
